The
First United Methodist Church of Hawthorne, Florida is a congregation that
worships God and whose members strive to be disciples of Christ, through the
guidance of the Holy Spirit. As a church, with foresight and
discernment, we envision continuing to serve our God who loves us. We
wish to share that love with our local and world-wide community, while
leading people to a greater knowledge of Jesus Christ, our personal Savior.
Mission
Our church's mission is to make disciples of
Jesus Christ by proclaiming the good news of God's grace and seeking the
fulfillment of God's reign in Hawthorne, in conjunction with the worldwide
mission of the United Methodist Church.
The accomplishment of this mission requires faithful and effective
participation in all ministries of this church. We are loved by God and
seek to pass this love on through service to others.
Our church, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, will minister to everyone
in our community; cooperating with other local churches, and providing
nurture and Christian training as appropriate.
