First United Methodist Church of Hawthorne, Florida

Prayer

Prayer is the way in which we communicate with God and participate in His works.  Jesus prayed regularly and we should follow His example.  Actually, the Bible admonishes us to "pray continually" (I Thess. 5:17).  An active personal prayer life is vital in the life of any believer.  Our church offers many ways to participate in prayer.  You are invited to become a part of these very important ministries.

Tuesday Night Prayer Groups  each Tuesday at 6:30 PM, men's and women's groups meet separately for intercessory prayer.  The men meet in the chapel and the women in the church annex.  On the last Tuesday of each month, these groups meet and pray together.

Prayer Breakfasts  held quarterly on Saturday mornings, with praying, teaching, and sharing following breakfast.

Prayer Room  located in the front entry room of the Nally House.  The Prayer Room is used for prayer and meditation and is available at all times.  Individuals are encouraged to include the displayed banner topics in their prayers with the assurance that God will listen.  Each person is encouraged to sign the prayer book for specific blocks of prayer time each week.  Several people may be at prayer in the prayer room at the same time.

Prayer chain  Call Ina Kay Morgan or Shirley Marrocco and any prayer request will be relayed to those persons who have agreed to be intercessors.
