Welcome to the Hartwell First United Methodist Church web site. We hope that you will take time to learn about our church family.

We are located close to beautiful Lake Hartwell in Northeast Georgia. Our church has been in ministry and mission for over 150 years. Our sanctuary is on the National Historic Registry being over 100 years old. We are a congregation of all ages with varied programs such as Sunday School, UMYF, UMW, UMM., Pre-School, Sojourners, and Bible Study. Our music program is composed of a chancel choir, hand bell choir, and a children's choir. In addition, various groups meet in our church providing christian fellowship opportunities seven days a week..

We hope you will visit us in Hartwell at 200 E. Howell Street if you are ever in our area. What kind of church are we? I suppose our Mission Statement defines us best: "We are a community of faith through which all persons can come to know Jesus Christ, accept his saving grace, and become faithful disciples, witnessing to God's love in the world."
