FOR August 11th, AD 2009
MEETING AT 7:00 P.M. IN THE INQUIRERS’ CLASSROOM

Opening prayer by Pastor Dace at Chairperson Craig’s request.
Correction to minutes Page 1, changing Sunday to “Monday morning.”
Minutes of previous meeting stand approved, as corrected.

Opening devotional by Chairperson Craig, from “The Once and Future Church” by Mead.

Present: Kara Sanders, Pat Dexter, Nancy Culver, William Lawson Culver, Mike Craig, Jean Price, Dick Elefson, Jim Dace, Don Hovendick, Elaine Blackwell, Alice Weiseman, Jack Borst and Pat Beffa.

Business before the Council:

No old business.

Church income reported by Jack Borst.
Miscellaneous accounts submitted by Pat Beffa.
Endowment Committee report by Don Hovendick. Moves $688.94 expenditure for computer for Pastor from Endowment Fund, seconded by Mr. Elefson. Passed.

Dick Elefson reported for Trustees, doing audits, inspections on parsonage and church
building. Claim with insurance company for June lightning damage. Working with Thomas Construction on painting well building.

Youth Group report by Kara Sanders. Various activities continuing.

Children’s Minister report by Nancy Culver. Includes report on successful VBS week,
Anticipated programs.

Elaine Blackwell, Membership Secretary. Reports 395 members. No change in July.

UMW President Pat Dexter reported on Mozambique Conference being co-extensive
with us, various activities reported; UMW send newsletter.

SPRC Committee Report by Jean Price; working on job descriptions and other items.

Pastor Jim said Church Conference coming up on October 25th, followed by meal
Stewardship and Finance groups met today, planning commitment program.

Worship Committee report by Alice Weiseman. New song books for Nursing Home
Ministries.

Stephen Ministry activity appreciated and reported on by Pastor Dace. Many visitors at
some Sunday Services this past month; both local families and tourist visitors.
This Sunday is 40th anniversary and ministry anniversary for Doris and Jim Dace.
