Church groups
Sunday worship and fellowship help form the core of the life
of the Harvard-Epworth community, but there are smaller groups
of Harvard-Epworth members and friends who get together and
help form the larger community. Here are some of them |
|
Adult
Forum
A special tradition
of Harvard-Epworth is the Adult Forum Sunday School class, which meets
in the church parlor, right off the entrance to the church. The program
is stimulating and often provocative, ranging from Bible study to discussions
of how art, politics, and social action relate to our faith.
Adult Bible Study
A newer addition to Sunday morning is the Adult Bible Study, which meets in the upstairs in the Vestry, left of the entrance to the church. The study follows Cokesbury adult curriculum and is characterized by lively discussion of how Scripture relates to contemporary life.
Faith
sharing group
This group
of intrepid souls meets at 8:00 on the first Sunday of each month (downstairs) for study, prayer, and reflection.
Choir
The adult choir sings at the 11:00 Sunday service during the school year
and part of the summer. The repertoire ranges from ancient to modern,
with a penchant for a capella arrangements. Rehearsals are on Sunday mornings,
from 9:00 until 10:45. New members are always welcome to come to rehearsal.
Talk to a choir member or the choir director if you're interested.
United
Methodist Women
The United Methodist Women/Women's Group meets monthly, usually at the
home of a member, for dinner, study, and fellowship. Call the church office for
the schedule and next meeting location (or check
the calendar.)
Young
Adult Group
Harvard Epworth's Young Adult Group welcomes anyone interested in fellowship
and fun! (The group's membership
ranges from 20's to 30's for the most part.) We enjoy lunch together
one Sunday each month and get together for sporadic and spurious activites,
too. To learn more about the group, email the church office.
