We are called to share that love and joy with one another, the community and the world by; making and nurturing disciples of Jesus Christ through education, worhip, prayer and fellowship; responding to the needs of our community and world through our outreach; and celebrating who we are through our dedication to Halethorpe-Relay Church.

Our History

Halethorpe Methodist Church began as a Sunday School class and then, on July 2, 1893, the Halethorpe Methodist Episcopal Church was organized. The cornerstone of the original church building was laid February 23, 1894. The need for a new sanctuary became evident in the 1950's so, on June 23, 1956, ground breaking ceremonies were held and the first worship was celebrated in the new (present) sanctuary. On September 18, 1966 the newly built education building was consecrated. One June 4, 1995, Relay United Methodist Church merged to become Halethorpe-Relay United Methodist Church.
