Four United
Methodist Kansas West teens traveled to England for a
ten-day summer pilgrimage June 8-17 to explore and
experience historic
locations from the lives of John and Charles Wesley, the
founders of
Methodism. The group of twenty-five teens from Nebraska,
Iowa, Kansas,
and Missouri called "youTheologians" visited
London, Epworth, Oxford,
Bristol, Hanham Mount, and Salisbury, England.
The trip was the
culmination of their participation in the year-long
youTheology program at Saint Paul School of Theology in
Kansas City,
thanks to a generous grant from the Lilly Endowment. The
youTheologians
committed to gathering for an orientation retreat plus three
additional
weekend sessions during the school year at the seminary for
intensive
learning, service, and theological reflection after being
selected as
exceptional teen leaders from their churches.
