Happy 120th!

Sunday April 20th was a great day here at Grace Church!  It was a day to be reminded about why we have all chosen to be a part of the Grace Family.  We honored 120 years as a church family.    The church was full, the music was fantastic and the memories were inspiring.    In many ways it felt like Easter all over again.  We welcomed previous pastors, church members and district superintendents.   We honored couples that had been married in the church and longtime members.  It was a day to celebrate!  We have remembered our 120th this year through many special ways.  And we cap off our celebration year with 30 of us going to Lydia Patterson Institute for a mission trip June 1-6.

Rev. Jim Reed in his message reminded us in his message about our mission statement; CHRIST, Campus Community.  In our first 120 years we have sought to live out this mission through our shared history with Southwestern, our outreach to our neighbors, and our faith in Christ.  Even though none of us will be around for Grace’s 240th anniversary (barring any medical breakthroughs in longevity), it is never too early to start planning.  It is up to all of us to live out and share our faith in Christ.  It is up to all of us to be in mission locally and globally.  It is up to all of us to continue to reach out to the campus and all of our young people.  If we live out our mission we can ensure that Grace will once again be filled in the year 2128 for its 240th anniversary.  We have Christ’s love and grace to offer the world.  Start planning now for Grace’s future!

Take Care and God Bless,
