Reasons for the Season of Giving
To Grace Members and friends
The season of Lent is the time when followers of
Christ reflect on our spiritual journey and examine our commitment to follow
Christ and being a participant in Christ’s Holy Church.
Your Stewardship Team has planned a six Sunday
emphasis for Lent 2008, which will enable all of us to reflect and examine our
spiritual journey with Christ.
On Sunday, February 10, Paul Bean, a layperson,
will share his faith witness in worship.
Paul’s home town is Wellington.
He graduated from Southwestern College in 1985. For the past several years Paul has been the
Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Southwestern College. He and his wife Chris are both members of
Grace UMC.
The following Sundays, February 17 – March 16, we
will celebrate God’s Mission to the World through Grace United Methodist Church
as follows:
“We Give For Each Other”
“We Give For Our Neighbors”
“We Give For Those In Need”
“We Give To Glorify God”
“We Give In Joy”
Lent is our season of
giving, these are the five Reasons for
the Season of Giving.
On March 16, Palm
Sunday, together we will make our commitment to support God’s Mission through Grace
United Methodist Church.
Each week you will
receive a mailing concerning each of these reasons for celebrating Grace’s
ministry to Winfield and beyond.
