Treasurer's Notes (Gini Reinhold)
WHERE DOES YOUR MONEY GO?
Did you know that prayer and giving have long
been vital to the women’s organization in the church? Today
the yearly offering for A Call to Prayer and Self-Denial
totals nearly one million dollars—with projects funded both
nationally and internationally. The 2009 Call to Prayer and
Self-Denial offerings will fund grassroots projects that support
local communities.
The projects in the 2009 overall theme of “Creating Communities Through Information Technology”
include: quickly alerting communities to disaster, violence
or other dangers through technology; computer education
to help with career enhancement and job-seeking skills;
teaching lessons on math, science, English-As-A-Second
Language; and sharing information about diseases and
treatments.
”But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his
brother in need, and shuts up his heart….” 1 John 3:17
There will be a Financial Workshop. Saturday, May 16, 2009

Mission Giving will explore topics such as: our
Biblical mandate to give, the various ways in
which we give, where the money goes once it is
given, and ways to encourage members to give.
Giving is fundamental to the Purpose of United
Methodist Women and vital to the programs we
support. Bring your 2009 Program booklet, any
questions you may have about Mission Giving, and
money for a special offering.

STRETCH THOSE
DOLLARS!
“...their abundant joy... …..overflowed in a wealth of
generosity on their part…”
2 Corinthians 8:2
Have you remembered to recognize that
special person that goes above and beyond the call
with a Special Mission Recognition Pin? Have you
sent your closest friend a Gift to Mission Birthday
card? Do you need to honor someone with a Gift in
Memory card? Are you still saving for your World
Thank Offering? All of these opportunities for giving
by United Methodist Women make a difference in
the lives of women children and youth around the
world. If you are giving in all five channels mentioned
above, you are a Rainbow Giver which in turn
qualifies your unit as a 5 STAR UNIT. Be sure to
check out
the Gift to Mission cards.
