Fulfilling Our Purpose
The Gulf Central Mission Team is fulfilling our Purpose in many
and varied ways. We participate in both local unit and district gatherings as a
community through district sponsored events and our Loving Links visitation
program. Loving Links are the connectional link from the District to the
Conference. They are available to visit unit meetings, to aid in finding
solutions to problems and to supply information to the units. Officer
counterparts are also in contact with unit officers through mail, phone and an
officer training event. Lasting friendships have developed among many members
through this program.
Our program theme for 2009 is “Who’s at the Table?” There are many good programs in the Program Book for 2009 - a collection of 10 programs that strengthen the work and faith of United Methodist Women. Included are:
- Mission Studies and Spiritual Growth
- Food and Faith: Where Would Jesus Sit?
- The Potluck: Listen and Learn Around the Table
- Social Justice
- Food Security
- Meditations
- Who Am I at the Table?
- Holy Days
- Advent: Together at the Table
Use these programs in your unit and circle meetings. As United Methodist Women we love to share meals as a
form of fellowship. Also remember to use Response and New World Outlook magazines as resources.
