Palm Sunday commemorates the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem and begins
the series
of observances focusing on the events of Holy Week.
The palms symbolize the response of the people to the entry of Jesus
into Jerusalem.
Palm Sunday is also referred to as Passion Sunday, marking the beginning
of
the passion or suffering of Jesus leading to and including the
crucifixion.
Holy Thursday
March 20

Sacrament of Holy Communion
and Service of Tenebrae
Holy Thursday is the day on which the Last Supper is commemorated.
The service of Tenebrae (tenebrae is Latin for darkness) follows a tradition of the church
dating back to
at least the 8th Century where extinguishing of candles following the
reading of Scripture passages until the Sanctuary is in darkness.
Good Friday

Good Friday is the Friday before Easter on which the crucifixion of Jesus
