Our Sunday Morning worship is a celebration in song, silence, and the spoken word. Music begins at 10:50 a.m.
Each Sunday morning at 11:30 a.m., a service of worship in Spanish is held in the Green Street Church Chapel. In addition, Spanish-speaking members have regular gatherings for a "Companions in Christ" group, computer classes, and seasonal celebrations with music and food. A "Hispanic Arts Initiative" program is held weekly on Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m
Part outreach to West Salem, part food program, part weekly fellowship gathering--our Wednesday Welcome Table Supper ministry meets at 5:58 p.m. throughout the school year. Other churches and neighborhood groups serve as co-hosts, planning preparing, and serving meals. Donations of one dollar for adults and fifty cents for chiildren are requested--but not required--from diners.
Both "Creation Care" and encouraging "Slow Food" consumption are accepted as Christian responsibilities. The Green Street Green Sheet, offering practical tips on environmental responsibility from the Climate Change Awareness Task Force, is updated regularly and is available at the church.
Working with the Winston-Salem Institute for Dismantling Racism and Crossroads MInistry, we seek to overcome racism. Race prejudice + the misuse of power by systems and institutions = Racism. Our goal is to address institutional racism both within and without our walls.
