Kudos to Our

Community

Another successful Apple Festival has come and gone for 2007. Once again the members of the First United Methodist Church of Greene are indebted to lots of people. We first must thank everyone who in any way assisted in making this event happen each year. Without the support of these people and this community, the Apple Festival could never happen.

There are some people and groups whom we would like to give special thanks. First, we want to thank the village crew for all their assistance, especially Rom Williamson and the crew who brought in three trucks of chips to fill in the mud holes resulting from the rain on Friday, September 28, and to all who grabbed rakes and shovels to smooth it out without being asked. Thanks again to Curtis Lumber and B&G Lines for the use of their flatbeds and to Curtis Lumber for bringing in our apples.

The Fire Police and Emergency Squad are there every year to help with the thousands of people who come to enjoy the celebration of the apple. Special Kudos to them. And the list goes on, to the Mulroys and Gulats for the use of their property and driveway, Bill Spicer of Xtra Mart and the Great American, Aaron Utter and his “gator” in helping with cleanup, Dale Sortman for growing little pumpkins, and Rich Boeltz who provided us with corn stalks and sunflowers; a special treat.

The Apple Festival has become a tradition in Greene and the First United Methodist Church looks forward to planning it. We know that it could not be done without the help and support of the Greene community.

So once again—a great big

THANK YOU!!
