Whenever human suffering is great, in our country and around the world, the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is hard at work trying to relieve human pain and loss in Christ's name.  We can count on that, and we can be proud that we are part of it!  There are five ways we can help:

          1.  Of course, the simplest way is to make a special financial gift.  If you would like to do that, please write your check to the church and designate it "UMCOR relief."

Mail it to your church, give it to your paster, or place it in Sunday's offering.  100% of these special gifts goes to the relief effort.

          2. At the UMCOR distribution warehouse in Baldwin, LA, they are desperately low on “Flood Buckets” and supplies.

See “The List” for items Concord UMC is collecting to ship/take to Sager Brown.  We can help by providing some of these items (or talking to store owners who might donate some of them or sell them at low cost).

We might even be able to coordinate a “Flood Bucket campaign in our community and help the church/community assemble whole flood buckets.

          3.  Some of us could GO to Sager Brown to help with sorting, packaging and shipping tasks related to recent weather related disasters.

Let Bro. Joe Hansen know if you'd be interested so he can put the details together (dormitory housing is available if we were to go for 2-4 nights).

          4.  You can tell friends and family who might like to help us collect the items on the list below.   Giving to help relieve human suffering (and to remind survivors that God loves them) is a privilege.

          5.  Pray

Pray that we will be ready for Christ's return and that we will be ready for the opportunities we have to help others know Him as Lord and Friend.   Pray for those near and far who have lost so much, especially for those mourning the death of loved ones.
