Who We Are:
If you're looking for church that is quiet, comfortable, friendly and reflective--well, you've just found your "home!"
We are a church that was raised by God nearly 100 years ago to serve as a center of activity for our community. For that time, we have been faithful to that call.
But please don't confuse that with being mired in the past! Being in our community means being relevant to today's needs and today's people--people like you! That means that we need people like you in our church--helping us to understand your needs, your hopes, your desires and even your fears. And we need your help, along with God's, to create and maintain ministries that address the reality in which we live.
Now, on the verge of a new century, we're ready to face new challenges and grow in our faith and ministry. In that vision, though, we will remain friendly, welcoming, and inviting to our neighbors who are seeking a faithful walk with our Lord Jesus Christ.
Come and join us!
Where We Are:
We're in the Traverse City area, for starters--and we know why people call this "God's country!"
We're well removed from the hustle and bustle of "urban sprawl," yet close enough to Traverse City and Cadillac to be connected. And we're just 15 minutes south of the internationally famous Interlochen Arts Academy with its full schedule of world-class entertainment year 'round.
God has blessed us with the best of all worlds: culture, commerce and open country with room to grow!

Our Mission Statement:
A mission statement is an affirmation of why we believe God created the Grant United Methodist Church. We firmly believe that churches don't just "happen," or that they exist solely because people want them to. Real churches exist because God has a purpose in calling believers together, and calling non-believers to faith is the first work of any church of Jesus Christ.
However, the work of the faithful doesn't stop there. With that in mind, we offer the following as our understanding of God's call on our church:
We are
Grant United Methodist Church
an open, all-inclusive church
family.
We are Gathered
by God
to celebrate abundant life.
We are Guided
by the Holy Spirit
who teaches us God's truth
through
Scripture, tradition, experience,
and reason.
We are Guarded
by the grace and love of
Jesus Christ
who call us to be in mission,
reaching out to our neighbors
in this community
and throughout the world.

4th Sunday Potluck Reminder!
Church is as much what happens between Sundays as what happens during worship. To help us know each other better, and find ways of being the church between Sundays, and celebrating the fellowship of being a church family in the name of Christ, we have instituted a 4th Sunday potluck following the worship service.
All right--so it's still on Sunday. We don't mind, as long as you join us and help us eat all the wonderful food that will be brought! Even if you can't bring a dish to pass, join us anyway--there's always plenty of food for all!
