History - About our Church (includes historical links)

Teddy Roosevelt (1898)

Grandview United Methodist Church was established in 1905.  Teddy Roosevelt had just started his second term as president, and Russia was at war with Japan.

The Church was built on the corner of Eighth & Goode Streets in Grandview.  In 1952, a new site was purchased and a new Church was built at 12613 Grandview Rd.  We are still at that location.

Our present pastor is Rev. Robin Roderick.  She came here on the first Sunday in July 2001.

Holy Communion

The United Methodist Church has an open Communion table

We believe that God's grace is available to every person through the sacrament of Holy Communion. Holy Communion is served on the First Sunday of each month at both Worship Services.

Holy Communion is available after each worship service as for all who seek to commune.

Children at Grandview

Children are always welcome at Grandview!  There are activity packets available in the back of the Sanctuary.  A nursery is also available for infants through kindergarten.  Just ask the greeters or ushers where the nursery is located.

If you are new to Grandview

Welcome!  We are grateful for your presence.  Please be sure to sign our attendance forms as they are passed to you and then pass them on to the person next to you.  Feel free to ask our greeters or ushers for directions to rest rooms, the nursery, classrooms or any other place you might need to find in the Church.

Each Sunday after the 8:30 service we have coffee around a fellowship table set by various groups in our church. Come and pick up a breakfast snack before you find your Sunday School class for life long learning of our faith.

Our hope is that your time spent at Grandview United Methodist Church will be so great that you will want to come back!
