The Christmas Checklist
Christmas is a time of lists -- To do lists,
Wish lists. Even the people in the Christmas story had lists. The Christmas
Checklist tells the story of Jesus' birth and how everyone followed their
checklists to become part of the first Christmas. The children are presenting
the program three times in December. Please put it on your checklist to
experience this wonderful story from a child's perspective.

Be a Christmas Angel
- The annual Angel Tree Party is December 13 from 2 ‑
4 p.m. During this party, the children will present The Christmas Checklist.
Following the play, gifts will be
distributed to the Angel Tree children. The Angel Tree is a program of Prison
Fellowship Ministries that provides gifts to children who have an incarcerated
parent. This annual outreach touches the hearts of all involved. Look for the
Angel tags to appear before Thanksgiving. Be an angel and pick one up!
Fall Festival - Squeals of Delight!
- We had a full day of fun with games and activities for
all ages. Thanks to all the volunteers (Junior Youth, UMYF, UMW, and UMM) who
gave up their time to make the day a success. We even had a real, live
(guinea) pig for the Kiss the Pig Contest.
July at Christmas?
- The Christmas season might seem like an odd time to talk
about Vacation Bible School, but summer will be here before you know it. And
along with summer comes VBS 2004. Everyone always enjoys the week of fellowship,
spiritual growth and fun. Planning begins during the winter, and volunteers are
needed. If you'd like to be one of the leaders for VBS 2004, see Bob or Marcia
Adams.
Thanks for Giving
- The holidays provide us an opportunity to reflect on the
past year. Some memorable events were: hearing the story of the Easter lily at
the Easter Egg Hunt; reciting the Pledge of Allegiance at Flag Day; autographing
T‑shirts at VBS 2003; taking all the yucky stuff out of a pumpkin to let
the light shine from inside; dumping mountains of coins into the Noisy Offering
bucket. These are just a few of the memorable moments from this year. There are
so many people to thank for these moments and all that you gave to the Children
of Grace this year. You gave your time, your talents, and your energy. You
helped each of our children grow spiritually through your leadership,
inspiration and example. Thanks for giving and have a Merry Christmas and Happy
New Year.
