SPOTLIGHT ON SUNDAY SCHOOL 

The spotlight this month is on ADVENT. 

Several classes have begun short term Advent studies for the month of December. 

The East Wing / Loft 

Adult Sunday school class is using the 4 session book: Mary Had a Baby: An Advent Study Based on African American Spirituals by Cheryl Kirk Duggan. Each session examines an African American spiritual, complete with historical/devotional material, a related Scripture, and discussion questions. Activities include listening to the spirituals on CD. Members & visitors of Grace you are welcome to join us upstairs in the loft. 

Senior High

The SENIOR HIGH class is studying Christmas From the Back Side by Ellsworth Kalas. Using an approach similar to his other "Back Side" books, Kalas opens up new possibilities of insight into the Scriptures of the biblical Christmas story by approaching them from unique starting points, creative re tellings, new "lenses", and looking through the eyes of not so familiar characters. All High School students are encouraged to come and become a part of this lively class, taught by Leslie Slaughter and Betsy Smoak. 

Middle School

The MIDDLE SCHOOL class, taught by Kim Neel and Monica & Tim Jones will study the same Advent book as the East Wing class.

Job Opening: 

THIRD AND FOURTH GRADE SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER Belinda Webb, one of our most dedicated and longest serving Sunday School teachers is ready to take a break. Her enthusiasm and love for the children will be missed. But. . . when one door closes God opens a window. So the Grace Sunday School program now has a "window of opportunity" for someone who feels called to replace Belinda as a 3rd & 4th grade teacher. Young Adult Sunday School Class

INTERESTED IN A YOUNG ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS? Are you in college, just out of college, just married? We are looking into forming a new Sunday School class for young adults.
