  What is DISCIPLE I?

DISCIPLE: BECOMING DISCIPLES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY is an approach to Bible study that emphasizes disciplined reading of  Scripture. It results in biblically nourished persons committed to live as disciples. During the course of 34 weeks, DISCIPLE groups move through the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation. All DISCIPLE Bible study participants will read more than 70 percent of the Bible. The Scripture for each session follows the chronological movement of the biblical story. DISCIPLE groups consist of around twelve members and a leader and meet weekly for about 2  hours for a period of 34 weeks (nine months). Each participant makes a commitment to daily preparation (30-45 minutes per day) and weekly attendance at and full participation in the group study sessions. DISCIPLE aims at transformation, not just information. DISCIPLE calls on persons to submit themselves to examination by Scripture, to put themselves under the power of God's word, and to be changed by God's word.

What is DISCIPLE IV?

DISCIPLE: UNDER THE TREE OF LIFE completes the intensive survey of the Bible begun in Disciple II & III, and is open to anyone who has completed Disciple I. It is a 32-week study, which covers the Old Testament books not in the Torah or Prophets (Psalms, Proverbs, Song of Solomon, Ecclesiastes) along with the Gospel of John and Revelation.

On June 16th we graduated 20 Disciple Bible Study participants including three who have taken all Four Disciple Bible Studies! The Disciple I group, which included ten people, have covered 75% of the Bible in 34 weeks starting last September in Genesis and ending in Revelation a few weeks ago. The Disciple IV group that consisted of 10 (11 if you count Nathan) people have completed a 32-week in depth study of Wisdom Literature, John and Revelation. These studies were more than exercises in mere academia. While the students learned many important and useful facts about the Bible the emphasis was on how to put that knowledge to work in their lives. It was all about becoming better Disciples for Jesus Christ.  They got "To Know Jesus" better and learned how to "Go Out and Serve Him" in their lives.
