There is just one way to bring up a child in the way that he should go, and that is to travel that way yourself.

There are many volunteer opportunities to serve.  If one of the "Help Wanted" ads appeals to you, contact the Pastor.  Maybe you are being called to offer assistance in other ways, if you feel led, please let Alex know!  The rewards are tremendous!

It was two years ago on May 20, 2001 that Grace voted to appoint a Building Committee and proceed to form a plan to expand our facilities. The job of this committee is to make plans to address both the architecture and the finances needed to make these dreams a reality. Since then a lot has happened. We have hired an architect and are working with him on fine-tuning the preliminary plans for a Sunday School building. We are also implementing a plan to deal with overcrowding in the interim. To that end we are in the process of getting all the necessary permits to expand the parking lot and we are leasing a portable Sunday School building. (And none too soon because Sunday School attendance is up 11% from last year at this time.)

But perhaps the most significant progress has been made on the financial front. After months of work, we carried out a Capital Funds Stewardship Campaign last fall during which over $300,000 was pledged to pay off the existing debt and raise a down payment on the new building. Since then enough has been given that the debt on the church building has been reduced from over $230,000 to less than $71,000!

Many thanks to the members of the Building Committee and everyone who helped with the Capital Funds Campaign! There are also two professionals who have given their time free of charge to the church. Richard Dolce helped us review the contract for the architect and Shannon Smith has done all the wetlands surveys required. Between the two of them they have saved Grace thousands of dollars.

We have come a long way but we still have a long way to go. Please continue your regular giving on the pledges you made and most importantly keep praying! God continues to send people to Grace and it is our job to be ready to welcome them.
