Grace finally pulls off a win.
The Grace team was able to hold off Shady Grove Methodist this week,
as they beat them 14-8. The game was well-played by Grace, and there
was a lot of action very early in the game. Grace started off the
first inning by scoring an amazing 14 runs. In the bottom of that
same inning, Grace was able to keep Shady Grove from scoring. Grace
did not score a single run after the first inning. The Shady Grove
team fought harder and harder each inning to make a comeback, but the
damage was done.
This was a big win for the Grace team, as it was the first of
the season. Not only was it the only team that Grace hasn't played
yet this season, but Shady Grove is the only other Methodist team in the
league. Grace will look for another win next week, as they play
Lakewood Church for the second time this season. The last time these
two teams met, Lakewood beat Grace 11-10. Let's hope for a different
outcome this time around. top
Another tough loss for Grace.
This week the Grace team took on Cornerstone. Cornerstone is
ranked number one in the co-ed softball league, and is a tough competitor.
The Grace team played well, trailing close behind Cornerstone for most of
the game. Grace was down by five going into the seventh inning.
However, in the top of the 7th, Cornerstone was able to score seven runs.
The runs were scored due to many errors made on the part of Grace.
Although it was a close game until the end, Grace was not
able to pull through with a win. Grace continues 0-4, and will play
next week against Shady Grove Methodist Church. Grace is still
looking for their first win, and will try to reach that goal next week.

The "ten-run rule" strikes again.
The Grace team suffered its third straight loss of the season against St.
Thomas Lutheran Church. It looked as if this one was possibly going
to be the first victory for Grace this season, as it was a close game
early on. By the end of the third inning, Grace was tied with St.
Thomas.
In the bottom of the fifth, Grace allowed St. Thomas to score
six runs and take a five run lead. The game finally came to an end
in the bottom of the sixth inning, as St. Thomas scored five runs, putting
them up by ten runs, and ending the game. The Grace team is
officially in a slump. Be sure to come out and support Grace next
week, as they try to put an end to their losing streak. top
The second game of the season was a loss... a big loss.
The Grace team started off the game looking good, scoring three runs in the top
of the first to lead off the game. Tom Harvey batted in the first run of the
game, with a stand up triple. Tom also made his debut at the pitcher position.
The Saint Johns team seemed to be unstoppable, as they
continued to score each inning. Grace was able to get 13 hits against against
the St. Johns team. However, the hits were only able to produce six runs. This
game was called early, due to the "ten-run rule". The verdict: Grace loses in a
16-6 blowout. Stay tuned for next week's game against St. Thomas, as Grace will
play for their first win of the season. top
Well, the season got off to a rough
start. The Grace team played well, however, they were not able to hold off
the Lakewood team. The season was kicked off with an 11-10 loss. The game
was a tight one all the way up until the last inning of the game. Grace
was down by one going into the bottom of the 7th, and the team was not
able to get a run scored to tie it up or win. However, Grace did have two
home runs in the game, which is 2 more than last season altogether.
Overall, the hitting was excellent. Larry Witteborg led the team in
pitching, as he only walked one batter, and struck out one as well. Some
errors were made, but it was just the first game of the season, and some
kinks are still being worked out. top
