THOUGHTS FROM THE LAY LEADERS

by Terry Spencer and Bill Leonard

Fall, shorter days, cooler weather, and a time to reflect. Perhaps as we reflect we can look at how God has always been faithful to us no matter what misdirected paths we have taken. Most of the time, we do our best to let God direct our days, but unfortunately we cannot always accept that He, Our Heavenly Father, does know best.

We need to let go and let God in all aspects of life, personally, at home, at work and at church.

Let God show you the way:

Ruth in the Old Testament, took and embraced the faith shared by her mother-in-law, Naomi, who “…has known death and gone on living. She has been struck down and refused to quit. She has looked square into the face of a bleak future and determined to shape it herself. She has challenged God as did the patriarchs before her and come back from an emotional grave as proof to the rest of us that God is not a noun. God is a verb. (The Story of Ruth, Twelve Moments in Every Woman’s Life, Joan Chittister).”

But Ruth replied, "Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.” Ruth 1:16, NIV

God’s peace and blessings be with you.
