COMING EVENTS:

SCRIP

The SCRIP program is up and running. This is an opportunity for all members of GUMC to raise money for your church without having to sell anything. All you have to do is buy the goods and service you already use. Purchasing a gift card through the SCRIP program won’t cost you any more, and GUMC earns a portion of the purchase price. See Juanita Champagne if you need more details.

MISSIONS

Our collection of non-perishable foods has been extended. A recent visit to Southington Community Services revealed they have no cereal or pasta, and are running critically low on other items including pasta sauce, peanut butter, jelly and tuna fish.

"THE STORY OF RUTH" STUDY

Ladies, share some of the wisdom you’ve gained over the years with other women in our church. Starting Wednesday, September 16, join us for a Bible study about the life of Ruth, lead by Terry Spencer. The group will meet in the parlor in the social hall for a brown bag lunch on alternating Wednesdays from 12:30-2:00 p.m. There is a sign up sheet on the door leading into the social hall. Contact Terry Spencer with any questions.

AN IMPORTANT WORD ABOUT HOSPITAL VISITS

Do you want the Pastor to visit you in the hospital? If so, have someone notify the church office that you are in the hospital. Patients' rights to privacy now keep your pastor from being able to look over the list of patients. Unless you specifically designate Grace UMC as your church, your pastor will not know you're there. Please let us know! Hospital Visits

HOSPITALITY MINISTRY

"Be generous, and you will be prosperous. Help others and you will be helped." Proverbs 11:25  A new Hospitality Ministry for folks dealing with funeral/memorial services is being established to provide set up, clean up, desserts and make sure that all the guests have everything they need. This way the grieving may mingle among each other and not have to be concerned about little details. For this venture, volunteers are needed to set up tables, work in the kitchen and bake. If you are interested in being a special part of this ministry, seen an update to: Hospitality Ministry
