UNITED METHODIST WOMEN AWARENESS DAY

August 20, will be the date of the annual United Methodist Women Awareness Day. UMW members will serve as ushers and liturgist at both services. Wonderful refreshments will be served on the Mall between services and membership brochures will be available for women attending services. Grace's unit of UMW supports all the many mission projects of the General Board of Global Missions of the church. We welcome all women who would like to be part of this fellowship and of the good works carried out by UMW around the world.

UMW UNIT MEETING

Our next Unit meeting will be a brunch on September 28, at 10:00 am in the parlor. The speaker will be Tiffany Stanley , an intern at Warren Village which is the UMW sponsored apartments for single parents. Watch for more information on this program in the September issue of the Circuit Rider.

UNITED METHODIST MEN'S BREAKFAST

The next Men's Breakfast will be in September.

MISSIONS FAIR

Well, we're doing it again! The Missions Committee thought it was time to sponsor another Missions Fair like the one held two years ago. For those of you who were not around then, a Missions Fair is a chance to showcase various mission organizations which the church often supports. You may be aware of some of these entities and the fine work they do. They include Interfaith Hospitality Network, Habitat For Humanity, DenUm (Denver Urban Ministries), Inner City Parish, Warren Village , and several others. A representative from each of them will be here to talk about what they do on Sunday, September 10, between worship services. Do you think Reverend Jim will show up?! And to make it fun, visiting the organizations will be tied to a theme which will evolve to the awarding of a number of prizes at the end of that hour between services. So join us on September 10 for an interesting and fun hour—you might even be so taken with an organization's mission that you will want to volunteer.

LAPTOP SENT TO EVAN MWITI IN KENYA

Evan Mwiti will begin work on his PH.D. in Nairobi in September. Your African Committee is happy to announce that $300 of Christmas Eve Offering 2004 was used to purchase a new Toshiba Laptop computer for Evan. Ann Fort delivered the computer to Evan on July 15 in Nairobi . She is there with her sixth volunteer in mission team from Colorado and will return in mid August. Evan sent an email to our congregation and you can read it on the bulletin board outside of the kitchen.
