If you’re “new” to the United Methodist Women organization, below is the Purpose statement of United Methodist Women (as shown on the UMW website http://new.gbgm-umc.org/umw) and following that, our goals for 2009-2011. PURPOSE “The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.” PROPOSITO La unidad organizada de Mujeres Metodistas Unidas sera una comunidad de mujeres cuyo PROPOSITO es conocer a Dios y experimentar libertad en la totalidad de sus vidas mediante Jesucristo; desarrollar un companerismo creativo y de apoyo, y ampliar los conceptos de mision mediante la participacion en los ministerios globales de la iglesia. GNJ UMW Conference 2009 -2012 Quadrenium Goals "Faith, Hope, Love in Action" 1. Reach out through Membership Counts visits to 100% of GNJ congregations by Feb 2012 2. Charter or reorganize at least one new local UMW unit in each district annually 3.
