We welcome Rev. Kenneth LaDuke and his wife Roslyn as our new parsonage family. Moving Day is Wednesday, June 22, and Sunday, June 26. will be Rev. LaDuke's first Sunday as pastor. Some renovation work and painting is being done at the parsonage this weekend, so they will wait until the first of the week to unpack and completely move in.
Rev. LaDuke is a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College, B.A.; Emory University, Masters of Divinity: and Drew University. Doctor of Ministry. He has served as pastor in Holston Conference for23 years including several churches in the Tri-Cities area. He comes to us from First United Methodist Church in Dayton, Tennessee.
Roslyn has taught Special Education for Sullivan County Schools and is currently a Special Education Coordinator. She has maintained her position here as Special Education Coordinator while her husband pastored in Dayton and they are looking forward to being together again.
In addition to serving as a pastor, Rev. LaDuke has served as chaplain for Wallens Ridge State Prison in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. He currently has a ministry to motorcycle gangs through the Sons of God motorcycle club.
The LaDukes are excited about coming to Glen Alpine. They believe God is leading them in this new opportunity for ministry and they ask for your prayers as they move.
For those, of us whose eyesight is beginning to betray us, we have large print publications available for your convenience. The Messenger in large print is available upon special request. We also provide Adult Bible Studies Sunday School Lesson Book and The Upper Room devotional magazine in large print edition. Large print hymnals and worship bulletin are available to pick up in the front foyer on Sunday mornings. (Please return hymnals to the cabinet at the end of the service.) Call the church office [349-7831] for more information about large print publications.
Just a reminder that those milk cartons placed at each exit are to collect your pocket change for "Change for Children." At the end of each worship service, drop your pocket change in one of the cartons. Your pocket change can change the world for children! Check out more information concerning this project here!

IN APPRECIATION |
We express our appreciation to all those who helped in serving the needs of our Interfaith guests. This is a very vital ministry for the Kingsport area, but it would not be possible without the dedicated service of our members. Thank you! | |
