Our comprehensive purpose is to honor our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, by carrying out his command to make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:18-20).

Specifically, we believe God has called us to focus on building a community of faith that would both attract and reach into the surrounding area to draw people to a vital relationship with Jesus Christ.

In order to accomplish this Gibson Memorial United Methodist Church will be an equipping center where everyone can develop  his or her journey of faith (Eph. 4:11-16).

This development will come through:
 

• creative, inspiring worship and prayer (Luke 5:33-39);

• teaching which is Biblical and relevant to life (II Tim. 3:16,17);

• vital, supportive fellowship (Acts 2:42);

• opportunities for outreach into the community in service and evangelism (Acts 1:8); and

• commitment to a team effort for ministry and organization (Eph. 4:11-16).
