To My Church Family
This is a small note with a big "thank you" to all of you for your prayers and support during my long illness. It has been a crazy two months with two stays in the hospital. Knowing you were all there for me has been a blessing. A special "thank you" to Pastor Wade for his visits. Hopefully I will be able to return soon to services.

Coming Events!

Come and join a New Adult Bible Class on Sunday morning, during the Church School hour, taught by Pastor Wade. The class will be dealing with the 8 core stories of the Bible and what they mean for us in our life today.

Our Small Group started last week at Stowell's, 388 Castle St., 4:30 - 6 pm and it's not too late to join. We are doing "Just Walk Across the Room" by Bill Hybels, a 4-session study with these remaining topics:

We will be using a DVD and participant's guide to spark discussion. Our group loves snacking as much as talking! Please see Faye Stowell, Ellen Mitchell, Jim Fluker, Jeannine Biehls, Rebecca Loughner or Pastor Wade if you have questions. We say we're small, but we have room for YOU!

An Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration, "One in Compassion" (click for details) will be held Tuesday, November 25th at 7:00 pm in the Vandervort Room of the Scandling Center at Hobart and Wm. Smith College. The speaker will be Mark Gearan, President of Hobart & Wm. Smith Colleges.

The Geneva Methodist Women will meet on Wednesday, November 19th at 12:00 pm at the church for a bag lunch. All are invited. Please bring your donation to our November meeting for our Christmas project. Anyone not attending and wishing to donate can call Elaine at 789-5168. We made $1530.35 on our Harvest Bazaar last Saturday. Many thanks to all who worked, provided goods and who bought goods.

Our Camp and Conference Ministries is embarking on a large building and expansion project at Casowasco Camp and Conference Center. Our church has pledged $3000 over 3 years. Coin containers are at both entrances to the sanctuary and chapel to put your loose change in to help fund our share of this project. Of course, no paper money will be refused. Add to the container and watch it grow! So far we have collected $692.93.

WE ARE IN THE PICTURES!!! Go online to see and purchase cards that have pictures of our First United Methodist Church windows on them! The web site is: www.zazzle.com/UMChurch and is available right now. We have a selection to choose from, including new! note cards with no sentiment on the inside. You could also order the images on a cup, stamps, a throw blanket, tote bag, tie, etc. We welcome all creative ideas for items you want to see with our church windows on them - think of upcoming holidays, wedding invitations, etc.

E-mail Addresses: In order to keep the congregation updated on important information, we are compiling a list of email addresses to keep you better informed and to extend our prayer chain. Please put your email address on the attendance form during worship or call into the church office.

Marriage Encounter is for couples who love each other and want to reawaken the joy of their honeymoon and wedding day. Marriage Encounter/United Methodist Weekends are held periodically in the Syracuse Area. A marriage encounter weekend is to focus on the communications of a married couple. The Website is www.encounter.org

Please note that the church office will be open Monday thru Friday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Please try to arrange to come in or call during those hours. At other times, the answering machine will be on. Doors will be locked at 1:00 pm each day Monday thru Friday unless activities are scheduled.
