The existing church was sold on March 9, 2007 to the Village of Galena. The church will be leased back from the Village until the new church is completed.
Groundbreaking ceremony took place on March 4, 2007. Bishop Hopkins delivered an inspiring sermon and attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
A loan for building the new church was approved by Delaware County Bank. The church is planning on closing on the loan by March 17, 2007.
Site work will begin during the month of March (weather permitting).
