$1,000 Award

Dear Scholar,
You are cordially invited to apply for the Ruby W. Smith Schlarship for $1,000 which will be awarded in May 1999 in her honor.

Gdielines for selection procedure:

1. A graduating senior residing in Southern California.

2. Member of a Methodist Church.

3. A Black student.

4. Planning to attend an accredited college, university or community college.

5. Demonstrates good academic standing (2.5 or above GPA)

6. Evidence of ambition, leadership, integrity, and education.

7. Interest in music, education, and/or ministry.

8. Demonstrated high level of involvement in school, church and community activities.

9. The recipient will be determined by the Ruby W. Smith Scholarship Selection Committe and will be notified by May 1, 1999.
