Memorial Guest Speaker Series

In 1970 a series of memorial talks was begun to bring outstanding speakers and leaders of the church to Crossett.  The purpose was to deepen the spiritual life of the church and the surrounding community.

The series begins the Sunday before Ash Wednesday and runs through Tuesday.

There are a total of five messages: Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. service and that evening at 7 p.m., Monday at a 11:45 a.m. luncheon and at 7:00 p.m., and a final luncheon on Tuesday at 11:45 a.m.  The cost of the luncheons is $4:00 per person.  A nursery is provided for all services.

Our speaker for 2008 (February 3-5) was Reverend Larry R. Williams, who pastored this church from 1993 to 2000.

Our speaker for 2009 (February 22-24) will be Reverend Hammett Evans who served as our Youth Director and Choir Director before going away to seminary.  Hammett is currently the pastor of Fordyce First United Methodist Church.  His photo and a brief bio appear below.
