Joyful Noise

The 4th. Sunday of every month is "Joyful Noise" Sunday.  The children come forward just before the sermon, receive a brief message and then disperse through the congregation with brightly colored cans to collect loose change.  The "Joyful Noise" is the sound of coins dropping into the cans.

Proceeds from this effort (over $3000 since its inception) go to support the Abandoned Children's Center, North Katanga Annual Conference, Democratic Republic of  Congo.  The missionary overseeing the Center is Dr. Jon M. Taylor.  Until June 30, 2004 Dr. Taylor was pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church in Little Rock.

Below is a picture of Roberta and the children on a typical JN Sunday, plus pictures taken at the Abandoned Children's Center.
