Gather to Learn, Go Out to Serve

The following is a list and description of the various Sunday School Classes offered at First Church.  The classes meet on Sundays from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.  Visitors are always welcome to any of our Sunday School Classes.

Children and Youth

First United Methodist Church offers Sunday School classes for preschool children beginning at age two through teenagers in high school.  The curriculum for the younger children includes favorite Bible stories along with appropriate activities and crafts.  The Junior and Senior High School students enjoy fellowship and learning about themselves, their world, and God through Bible study and discussion.

The Ambassadors' Class
The Ambassadors' Class studies the Bible as it relates to history and as it speaks through the Spirit to people today.  The class is made up of both singles and married couples who care for each other personally, prayerfully, and spiritually.  The class loves singing old favorite hymns.  Special events include monthly dinners and special assistance to those in need in the community.  Local pantry support, including food and cash is provided weekly.  Ages:  50+

Billy Miller Fellowship Class
The Billy Miller Fellowship Class is truly a fellowship class, enjoying a close, loving relationship with each other.  The Bible is used as the study text, and teachers from the class membership use a combination of lecture and discussion to elicit participation from its members.  Special events include a dinner social and participation in the church's missions, nursing home visitation, and evangelism ministries.  Age:  60+

Christians Unlimited
Christians Unlimited studies the beginning of Methodism and its place in history and the foundation for the Methodist belief.  After establishing this base, they discuss relevant topics that make an impact on daily Christian living.  The class is made up of both singles and married couples and is involved in fellowship and various church and community service projects, such as coordinating the Food Basket Ministry at Christmas.  Ages:  25-40
