We are told that love starts with “respect”, and grows into a very special relationship.
We here at Newton Methodist are all very different people, Dr. Welch. No two of us look or speak or think exactly the same. But we all know Quality when we see it. And when we, as individual members of the Congregation, came to know you, we were aware that this was indeed someone quite special.
Now as this springtime slowly begins to turn into the summer of nineteen ninety-eight, we are just now beginning to realize that we are being told to say “Goodbye” to this very special person.
And we are not exacty sure how to go about it.
While you may receive many gifts and kind words as you leave Newton; we, as the “little people of the Church” here-by give you something just a little bit different: we give you the many years and months of our lives that we have spent in your company, in your Church.
