Activities

God's Big Backyard
Aug. 3-7
6 to 8:30 p.m.
Only 10 more days until Vacation Bible School! Sunday, Aug. 3, through Friday, Aug. 8, we will be studying God’s Big Back Yard, directed by Libby Clark, Jennifer Lotz and Hiedi Morang. Our program this year will be during the evenings: 6 to 8:30 p.m. We will serve a light supper each evening so you can come directly from work!

Sign up to help and/or register your kids
Pick up a free VBS music CD

We have a “wish list” of items from crafts to cookies.
Pick an item or two off the umbrella in Henderson Hall and return those to the green pail.

Our mission focus is collecting shoes for the people of Haiti

Check Out New Books
Luci Swindoll says Life! Celebrate It. Each day is not meant to be one of drudgery, but one of delight and hilarity. Let Luci share her insights so that you don’t have to freeze in fear when the road forks or your plans fall through. Or you can be All Cracked Up. Chinks, gashes, and fractures are part of all of us. Patsy Clairmont declares the good news: we’ve all got Spackle, that magic mortar within us, our Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Two delightful books given in memory of Bill Hinman’s mother, Juanita. All on our feature table, New Books.

Let’s “Share the Harvest!”
If you have more tomatoes and zucchini (or any other fruits or vegetables) than you know what to do with, bring them to Henderson Hall on Sunday. There will be a basket for donations which will go to the Mission Committee.

Ad Council Meeting
Administrative Council meets Monday, July 28, at 7 p.m. in room 311.

Welcome
We welcome new member Georgia Frick! Add her to your new directory at 2302 E. Zora (Autumn Place), Joplin, MO 64801.

Thank You
From the family of Goldie Snyder: Thank you for the delicious lunch on Monday, July 14th. We appreciate your prayers and sympathy.

Summer Food Drive for Crosslines
If you are reading this before July 24th, the Chiropractic offices of Carson, Girard, and Lewis, 1731 E. 20th St. will be accepting donations of non-perishable food items in exchange for treatment. Established patients may donate seven food items for treatment, and new patients donating 15 items will receive exam, x-ray (if indicated), and treatment at no charge. Call 782-6565 for Dr. Carson or 623-3021 for Dr. Girard. All food donations will be give to Crosslines’ pantry.

At Camp Galilee
Camp Galilee counselors this week include Gerrie-Ellen Johnston, Dyanne Dillon and Linda Brown. Please be in prayer for these ladies and our kids.

From the Wilkos in Guinea, West Africa:
Thank you for your prayers and support this past month. We have surely needed them. We are doing work in the capital city-finances, bookkeeping, administration, compound maintenance, guesthouse ministries. . . Add onto that Charlie managing our internet system and printshop, and Stevanie handling the directorship, plus a lot more people on the field and you have a very tired couple! Please pray that God would give us strength.

Lotz of Love!
SAVE THE DATE OF AUG. 17 when our Mission Committee will be sponsoring a luncheon and auction in honor of Eric and Jennifer Lotz and children. The Lotz family will be leaving us early this fall to serve God in Haiti where there will be no power and no fresh water unless they can obtain an electric generator and a water filtration system.

Please plan to come for lunch at noon on the 17th to visit and help us raise money for these basic necessities. We would also welcome auction items!

Care Team
The Mission Committee would like to create a Care Team for our Church Family. They are looking for people willing to occasionally respond to the needs listed below. Many of you already assist others, but that participation can always be increased. Even if you are already involved, please sign the form below or the insert in Sunday’s bulletin. Every member’s help is needed. The jobs listed below are only a beginning; other needs may evolve.
