Worship

 

First Church provides congregational worship at 8:45 a.m. and 10:55 a.m. each Sunday morning. Worshippers are inspired by the brightness of our sancuary. Special services are held on the following days: Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and during the Lenten season.
A typical order of worship follows:

  • The Lighting of the Alter Candles/Chiming of the Hour of Worship
  • The Introit
  • The Call to Worship
  • Hymn of Praise
  • Invocation
  • The Gloria Patri
  • The Time With Children
  • Morning Prayer and The Lord's Prayer
  • The Service of Giving
  • Hymn of Preparation
  • The Scripture Reading
  • The Anthem
  • The Sermon
  • Closing Hymn
  • The Choral Benediction and The Trinitarian Chimes
  • The Postlude

As part of regular services, the following sacrements and events are celebrated:
  • The Sacrament of Holy Communion
  • The Sacrament of Baptism
  • Reception of new members
