• Native of Waynesville, NC.
• Recieved a B.A. in Religion from Wofford College in 1981 and a Master of Divinity degree from Duke Divinity School in 1985.
• Served three appointments as a pastor in the Western North Carolina Conference prior to coming to our church.
• Served a charge in Waynesville, was at Triplet UMC in Mooresville and at First UMC in Marion.
• At Duke, served as part-time student associate in Oxford and Durham.
• Ordained a deacon in 1984 and an elder in 1987.
• Wife, Kay McKenzie Holder was born in Columbia, SC and received a B.A. degree in music education from Furman University in 1981.
• The Holders have one child, Ashleigh Elizabeth.
