First United Methodist Church was founded in 1903 by the concerned citizens of this area.  The original frame building was later replaced by a brick structure and dedicated in August, 1949.  We are here within this community to provide a strong witness to this city and the surrounding area of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Our hope and prayer is simply this.  If we are in someway helpful to you in finding Jesus Christ as your personal Savior then all of our efforts have been worthwhile.

God's love goes beyond anything that this life in itself could ever offer.  No person on the face of this earth can love you like God can.  He desires to be an ever-present part of your life today.  It's a very simple matter of asking God to forgive you of your sins and to allow you to become a part of His family.  We hope you will and that you will write us and let us know what has happened in your life.
