About Keith Urban, Webmaster

Before moving to the Bay area, Keith Urban was a member of the Design Technology team at the New York Times in New York City, where he created their first Newsroom Intranet. He was also a key member of the team that introduced color to the pages of the Times, and he consulted and taught computer graphics for People and Sports Illustrated Magazines, and at Parsons School of Design.

Currently Keith is a consultant and teacher specializing in demystifying technology and making it easy and useful for the average person. He teaches a wide range of computer subjects, including using digital cameras, scanning, and enhancing photos, as well as business applications such as Microsoft Office. He also teaches QuarkXPress, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat, and multimedia software such as Apple's iLife suite (GarageBand, iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD), and Final Cut Express, and DVD Studio Pro.

Keith also teaches modern dance, dance improvisation, and choreography at Stanford University. A celebrated dancer, choreographer and teacher, he was a founding member of Toronto Dance Theatre, and Assistant Professor and Chair of the Dance Department at York University, Toronto. His own award winning dance company, Urban and Formolo Dance, was the first Canadian-based troupe to perform and teach in the People's Republic of China.

Keith teaches an enjoyable movement class, the Joy of Movement, for the general public (no previous experience necessary!), through Stanford's Continuing Studies Program, and also an ongoing class each week in Mountain View.
