Children are a very important part of the ministries of Friendship United Methodist Church. Friendship offers a wide range of Bible-based, Christ-centered Sunday School classes for children from nursery age through grade 12.
Friendship has an active youth fellowship (MYF) program, as well as a variety of family ministries-sponsored activities that include family members of all ages. Friendship also provides a Vacation Bible School program each summer and several special events for children throughout the year, including celebrations at Easter, Halloween, and Christmas. Nursery care is also available during both worship services for children up to age 5.
The children also are an
important part of the worship services. Often the service includes music by the children's or youth choirs
or other participation by the younger members of the congregation. Each week there is a children's sermon, and activity bags are provided for the younger children to use as they sit with their families during worship. Nursery care is provided during both worship services for those children 5 years and younger.

Sunday School for children is held each Sunday from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. during the academic year.
There are classes for all ages from two through adult, with two different adult classes offered. The regular Sunday
School year starts with a Promotion Sunday kick off near the beginning of the school year, and ends with Celebration
Sunday in June. There are other big events throughout the year including a Happy Birthday Jesus party,
our annual Christmas Pageant, and an Easter morning family gathering.
Our Sunday school program begins in the fall. Classes will be held for students ages two through adult from 9:45 - 10:45. Children from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade meet in Fellowship Hall at 9:45 for some Bible Fun with Ms. Missy and Ms. Dink before heading to their classrooms. Parents are asked to complete a registration form and are welcome to stay and enjoy coffee and fellowship.
You can access the Registration Form here.
We are looking forward to another fun year spent learning about the Bible and God's love.
Hope to see you soon!
The FUMC Sunday School Staff
The last day of Sunday School is June 2nd. The teachers would like to wrap-up the year and celebrate with all of the kids. Please begin in your regular classrooms and then come to the fellowship hall for Rita's Water Ice at 10:30. All parents are invited to join us downstairs to acknowledge the students and teachers for a great year. Parents, please encourage your children to take time to thank their teachers for all of their time and dedication throughout the school year.

Each summer, Friendship United Methodist Church offers a week-long VBS program for children in the church and community.
This year, as Friendship UMC undergoes some much-needed renovations to its education wing, Friendship is excited to join Mt. Zion UMC and St. James Parish for a South County Community VBS. Please join us at St. James Parish June 23-27 from 6:00-8:30 pm for Kingdom Rock VBS and at Mt. Zion on Friday, June 28th for a family-friendly Kingdom Rock Celebration Spectacular!
The program is for children ages three through those completing 5th grade. Older youth are encouraged to participate
as part of the VBS staff.
