Each summer, Friendship United Methodist Church offers a week-long VBS program for children in the church and community. This year, as Friendship UMC undergoes some much-needed renovations to its education wing, Friendship is excited to join Mt. Zion UMC and St. James Parish for a South County Community VBS. Please join us at St. James Parish June 23-27 from 6:00-8:30 pm for Kingdom Rock VBS and at Mt. Zion on Friday, June 28th for a family-friendly Kingdom Rock Celebration Spectacular! The program is for children ages three through those completing 5th grade. Older youth are encouraged to participate as part of the VBS staff.

Friendship UMC Young Adult Group

We are excited to announce the formation of a new group just for young adults. The group is open to all young adults within our church and community, targeting, but not limited to, 21-35 year olds. You are invited to a kick-off BBQ/Pool Party/Interest meeting on Sunday, June 30 from 2-5 pm at Tiffany Miller's home (880 Fowler Rd. Owings, MD). Please bring a side dish or dessert to share. Please help us spread the word to those that might be interested?

Summer Choir is coming!
The first opportunity will be July 1 and July 2-rehearsals at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. On July 7th, this choir will sing during the 11:00 service. Sandy Griese will be directing this session. There will be 2 more sessions, so keep looking for announcements! See Sandy if you have any questions.

FUMC Sings at the Baysox Game!

The Bowie Baysox has invited FUMC members and friends to sing the National Anthem at a game. If you would like to join in with the group singing please contact Sandy Griese. If you are not a singer that's OK, come out and cheer on FUMC and enjoy the game. The details are: Bowie Baysox vs Richmond Flying Squirrels @6:35pm on Saturday, July 13th. There will be fireworks after the game. Box seats are $15 each or 2 for $25. Children under 3 are free. All proceeds will benefit the building fund. There will be tickets available in the fellowship hall or contact Tina Wilkerson at rtwilk92@yahoo.com, (410) 257-6396 or contact the church office.
