Youth Ministries

The Freeville United Methodist Church Youth Group is a very active ministry open to all youth from grade 5 through grade 12. Meetings are held Sundays from 5:00 to 6:30 pm at the church.

The meetings are intended to be a time for Christian fellowship, learning about God's word, becoming involved in community outreach programs and service, and discussing the issues that face our youth from a Christian perspective.

Recent events the youth have been involved in include:

Operation Christmas Child

A "Rock-a-Thon" was held where they rocked in rocking chairs all night and received donations from sponsors. The money raised was used to purchase items to create boxes for Operation Christmas Child. For more information about Operation Christmas Child please visit http://www.samaritanspurse.org/home.asp A great time was had by all!

Bell Ringing

Each year our Youth participate in bell ringing for the Salvation Army.

Relay for Life

Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event that our Youth participate in designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times. Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day, cancer will be eliminated. 30 Hour Famine

World Vision's 30 Hour Famine is an international youth movement to fight hunger and change the lives of the group, hungry children, and our world forever. Our Youth have been actively involved in this mission. While our group is very proud of their service accomplishments they have fun in many other ways as well. They have enjoyed activities such as roller skating and "lock-in" overnights at the church where they sang songs, played games, ate pizza and lots of snock food, made chocolate chip cookies, watched movies and talked, talked, talked. Around 1:00am everyone finally crawled into a sleeping bag and fell asleep. They were up at 7am to get everything cleaned up and then were treated to a breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon and juice. The adults and kids all agreed that it was a good way to spend time together and they are looking forward to doing it again.

If you would like more information regarding the youth group, please contact the church office.
