Church
Following Pastor Jim's
sharing time (Pockets story " The Sibling Fixer")
with the children in the church they will leave for
their time of worship in the community center. We shall
be reading the story of "The Poppy Lady", which is the
story of Moina Belle Michael and her tribute to veterans
in honor of Memorial Day. Following our story we
shall have our prayer. Following this the children
will have a chance to make poppies. The children will
also be practising their bell piece with Miss
Alison.
Games &
playdough will be available after the children
have finished their activities.
Kudos! Terracycle update-
Hello All:
As some of you are aware, our church recently
began to be part of the Terracycle fundraising
program. With just our small beginning, we
have diverted 2,473 pieces of waste from the
landfill. We stacked the boxes and
they reached over 6 feet! This is a wonderful
stewardship program also helps earn a little
money for the church. We were able to make
our minimum for the year, and the church should
receive a check in July.
So... Thanks to all! Keep those items
coming and we will start up again for the next
cycle. Simply bring your items to the
church sorting station in the front. You
may find flyers there that may be easily posted
at home to remind you what we can collect.
In addition, to what is on the form, we may now
collect - Deodorant sticks, Mouthwash
containers, and corks. To find out more about
Terracycle go to www.terracycle.com.
If you would like us to email you a fridge grid
directly, please email Matt at
deskgremlin@gmail.com.
Sincerely,
Melissa and Matt Browns

Hope in the Hills of Warren
Hope in the Hills of Warren recently became a
"Community Extension of Habitat for Humanity" and
was initially formed by a group of volunteers from
various churches and community organizations that was
created to allow youth and adult volunteers to complete
minor home repairs for homeowners within our community.
These repairs might be in the form of construction of
wheelchair ramps, repair/replacing porches,
interior/exterior painting, drywall repairs, mobile home
underpinning, etc. Typically, the work is performed
on the homes of elderly, low-income, and disabled folks;
with all the work completed at no cost to the homeowner.
Mission Statement: Our mission, as volunteers from
different Christian denominations, is to provide an
opportunity to improve our community by sharing our love
and skills.
