Sunday School
In Sunday School, we are planting the seeds of faith in children's hearts and minds as we explore the Bible and life.  Click here to read more about children's opportunities in Sunday School.  Additionally, a nursery is always available for infants and toddlers.

Confirmation
The Confirmation Class will be meeting in the Choir room with the pastor beginning Feb. 4th at 10:15am.  The class is for 5th graders, but if we have 6th, 7th, or 8th graders who are members yet have not attended a Confirmation class and would like that experience or older youth who are not members and would like to attend the class—you are invited!  Parents, please come with your youth to the first meeting on Sunday, February 4th.    The Confirmation class will meet throughout the Lenten season and the youth who participate will join the church on the first Sunday after Easter (April 15).,

Children and Worship
God's people gather to worship on Sunday morning.  God calls and the faith community responds in prayer, in song, in praise, and sometimes in speechless awe.  The good news of Jesus Christ is for everyone, regardless of age or ability to understand.  Everyone can respond to that good news, especially children with their natural ability to trust.

When a child first comes to worship it is like bringing the smallest family member to the dinner table.  The manners are not elegant, but are developed by the experience of participating.  Children may talk loud, wiggle, swing their legs and ask questions, simply because they are children.

In order for them to grow in faith, they must know love, they must experience acceptance, and they must see faith in action.  Congregational worship that takes children seriously can provide for all three needs.

We welcome children of any age in our worship services just as we receive each child as a member of our church family.  A nursery is always available for infants and toddlers.

During the 9:00 a.m. service, children are invited down front for the children's moment, a time to teach the faith to our youngest disciples.  Children of all ages are invited.  After the children's moment, children in kindergarten and younger may go to children's church, a supervised time of additional learning and fun.

Those children remaining in worship receive a worship packet with activities related to the morning's sermon.

After-school Programs
(during academic year)

Our Purpose is to reach out to children in the name of Jesus by creating a safe place for them to discover the love of God.  As Christians, we follow the example of Jesus, whose strong advocacy of children was displayed in his actions as he blessed, welcomes, and received little children.  Jesus made the importance of sharing the good news clear when he said:

"Let the children come to me for such
is the kingdom of God"

All after-school programs are designed to compliment the Christian Education and music experience our children have on Sundays.

In an age-appropriate manner, the children are encouraged to apply their learning to life.  That application may take the form of mission projects, crafts, drama, music, etc.

For all the programs, church staff use our buses to pick up the children at each of the schools.  Also, we provide a light, healthy snack, and a time for recreation.

Parents, or approved adults, pick up children at 5:00 p.m.

Camp Loucon

"Peace Talks" is the theme of our 2007 Loucon camping season.  The mission of all Loucon Camps is to provide opportunities for guiding and nurturing children and youth in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

Our program intentionally presents Christ through daily worship and Bible study in a way that encourages children and youth to develop that relationship.

We seek to create an environment of Christian fellowship in which campers can develop positive peer relationships and benefit from positive adult role models of Christian faith and practice.

We provide an outdoor setting in which camp participants are encouraged to develop an understanding and appreciation of their relationship to the Creation and the Creator.

Loucon Camps provide plenty of space and time for fun and relaxation as well as training in new skills.  But our most important task is to present opportunities for participants to know Jesus Christ as Saviour and respond to Him as Lord.

Camp Loucon is located in Leitchfield, KY.  Camps are offered to 2nd graders through senior high.  A complete list of this summer's classes can be found at www.loucon.org or in the church office.
