Our vision at the Forsyth-Stokes charge is inclusive in the vision of our Western North Carolina Conference. We are three missionary outposts that are part of the one church that is our United Methodist Church. The vision of our congregations is one of miraculous expectation through our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in the core values of faith and love and our strong desire to spread the Gospel, the “Good News”, of Jesus Christ through word and deed. We have felt and are feeling and are experiencing a great transformation in our lives and yearn for others to feel that wonderful, miraculous transformation, “a newness” in their lives as well. We are called to the Great Commission and live by the Great Commandment. We are committed to a missionary vision, being one church with our conference and our United Methodist Church, and we will do all in our power using all of our resources and talents to carry out this vision. Our congregations are dedicated to community, love for one another, and to mission hearing what Christ tells us, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” We do this knowing the love of Christ for all, and our love for him who gave all.
The Great Commandment “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and first commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” The Great Commission "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.”
