CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF RICH HERITAGE

The current generation of Forrest Heights United Methodist Church has a rich heritage because of the visions and dreams of our early church officials, ministers, and dedicated lay people.

Since 1949, many people have been a part of the life of this church.  Many memories have been created.  Some make us laugh, some bring our tears.  Some lead to celebration.  But all are a part of who we are today.  As we reflect on our past, we also dream of who we might become in the future.

July 29, 1951 is recorded as "Founder's Day", for it was on that date that the first service was held in the church Fellowship Hall.  Those who joined the church on or before that day are listed as founders.  On that day there were 345 members, 26 of whom retain membership as of this writing (May 1999).
