United Methodist Women Our Purpose: The organized unit of United Methodist Women (UMW) shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. The Forrest Chapel UMW was organized 1946. United Methodist Women is a mission organization dedicated to reaching out in love to members of the local unit as they serve God’s people in the world. The emphasis of United Methodist Women is on home and global missions, and the organization supports a vast number of mission projects. General Business Meetings: General business meetings are held on the 5th Tuesday of each quarter at 6:30 p.m. with a covered dish supper. Forrest Chapel UMW has two groups. The day group meets every 2nd Tuesday at 10 am and the night group meets every 3rd Thursday at 6:30 pm. United Methodist Women is the official women’s organization of the United Methodist Church. It’s membership is voluntary and open to all women committed to spreading the gospel through mission work. We invite you to join.
Mission- Some of our past projects include chili supper and bake sale and making "goody bags" and sending them to college students.; missions in our community include Hope Place, The Caring Place, SIFAT; special programs include World Thank Offering, Prayer and Self Denial. The UMW strongly supports efforts to help the less fortunate to have a safe, livable shelter. Fund raising projects provide money for unexpected needs in the church or in the immediate neighborhood. Come be a part of a circle to fellowship with other believers and take an active part in Christ's service.
