The Sound of Joy
Who are we?
We are the Waugh United Methodist Church handbell choir, a volunteer group who contribute musically and spiritually to worship services at Waugh United Methodist Church in Glen Arm, Maryland. Even though our church is a small country church, our handbell music is of great joy to our congregation.
We practice twice a month on Thursday evenings and perform once a month during the worship service.
Our bell group consists of ten members, and we are directed by Danell Garrett.
What do we play?
We ring three octaves of Malmark handbells, from C4 to C7. Most of our music are familiar hymn pieces and we try to add some special techniques to the old time hymns. Our favorite composers are Anna Laura Page and Kevin McChesney.
