+Call to Worship

The Lord be with you.

And also with you.

The heavens are telling the glory of God.

the earth proclaims God’s handiwork;

Let the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts

be acceptable in the sight of the Lord.

Let us bless the Lord!

Thanks be to God!

Opening Prayer

Prayer of Confession & Assurance of Pardon

Merciful God, we confess that our sin turns us from you again and again.  We are a sinful generation longing for your mercy.  We want not only to save our lives, but to gain the whole world as well.  We are too often ashamed to show our faith to the world around us.  Have mercy on us. Amen.

If we rely upon the law of God, we are beyond hope.  But in God’s mercy we are declared righteous through our faith in Jesus, who died for our sins.  In the name of Jesus Christ, your sins are forgiven.

In the name of Jesus Christ your sins are forgiven.  Amen.

·The Great Thanksgiving

    The Lord be with you.
    And also with you.
    Lift up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give him thanks and praise.

. . . for ever praising you and saying
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory.
    Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord,
    Hosanna in the highest.

. . .as we proclaim the mystery of faith:
Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowèd be thy name; thy Kingdom come, thy will
be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us
our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.  And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and
the glory, forever.  Amen.

The Communion

The body and blood of Christ, broken and shed for you.
    Amen.

The Breaking of the Bread

The Giving of the Bread and the Cup

A Prayer to follow Communion

Eternal God, we give you thanks for this holy mystery in which you have given yourself to us.  Help us show that the world’s wisdom is folly and all strength comes from you.  Grant that we may go into the world in the strength of your Spirit, to give ourselves for others, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

A Hymn:

Dismissal and Blessing

May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.  And the blessing of God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, be upon you and abide with you always.

     Amen.

The Lord be always with us.

And with our absent brothers and sisters.

     Let us bless the Lord.

     Thanks be to God.

As a matter of curiosity, I have printed the musical selections in the lighter blue.  When you get right down to it, it's amazing how much music there is in an average United Methodist worship service!
